We are told that happiness and satisfaction in life comes from buying another thing, satisfying a personal desire, accomplishing another goal, looking like you’re succeeding, forward movement, checking things off the list, being more and better. Being more so you can have more. At mid-life this story starts to ring hollow.My mission is to guide mindful, deeply personal transformations from mid-life uneasiness to a rich reconnection with purpose. The science is starting to show that happiness and health come from being more so that everyone can have more. The richness of life comes from putting in the work, bringing what you’ve got, developing your talents so that everyone can thrive. Abundance isn’t something that you sit and wish for yourself. It’s something you create around you.

My Approach

My coaching training was at Duke Integrative Medicine, part of the world renowned Duke Medical School. I learned how to use the healing traditions together with a traditional medical plan to help our clients create optimal health.I stay up to date with the best coaching techniques – techniques grounded in mindfulness, motivation and cutting edge neuroscience. Together they are an unbeatable combination to help you make the changes that will add vitality, energy and ease to your life.Whichever path you choose, we begin our work with breathing and micro-mindfulness exercises to start calming your body and nervous system. You learn how to meet and neutralize the effects of stress on your body and mind. As you begin to feel more space and calm in your life we shift our focus to your goal and how your habits in diet, exercise and sleep can support them. By the end of our engagement you have a toolkit of healthy habits that support your energy, enhance your mood, build your brain and body and increase your feelings of mastery and ability.

 How We Work Together Individually

In a coaching engagement, we start with a half-hour phone conversation so I can understand where you see yourself in six months. We talk about how our work together could get you there. If it seems like we’re a good match then we proceed to a coaching engagement. We work together for three or more months, at the pace that’s right for you.You choose a goal you’d like to work on. It could be something you’d like to stop — like evening eating or being distant with people who are important to you. Or it could be something you’d like to start — exercising more regularly or learning how to lessen your reliance on meds to manage your health.
